What do you think has gone particularly well so far this year? 


I have already learnt lots of important terms and their definitions and i have started to use them in pieces of analysation. I find the lesson engaging, interesting and fun.

What are your strengths?


Being able to contribute in class when asked to.


What is stopping you from achieving your goals? What threats might you face, (for example not enough time, lack of organisation, pressure from other subjects...)


Lack of Organisation such as keeping track of when Homework is due and being able to balance Media with my other subjects like English in which i receive a lot of Homework from.

Identify 3 specific targets for yourself for the rest of this year. They can be both academic and organisational goals.

  • Create a practical and exam based Media Project i'm satisfied with.

Conventions of print adverts.

Z-line: The way the audience is drawn across the advertisement. Rule of thirds: When the advert is split into 9 sections, the middle section, in the second third, is where the audience is naturally drawn to. Headings and Subheading: Used to signify a title of a whole page/article and to title smaller subjects within a page/article. Very commonly larger than all other text. Serif font: Small additions to letters in a font. Formal. Sans-serif font: No small additions to letters in a font. Informal. Lexis: The choice of language. Mode of address: The type of way it addresses a person. Bold, vintage and exaggerated.  Target audience: housewife. The colour red expresses the happiness and affection as it relates to romance.
